Young Leadership Recognition Program

The Young Leadership Recognition Program is designed to feature current and future clinical and academic excellence in physicians practicing interventional cardiology and endovascular medicine.

Recognition:

The top 25 applicants will receive:

• An invitation to serve as CRT 2017 Faculty
• Complimentary registration*
• Three nights stay (room and tax) at the Omni Shoreham Hotel
• Coach airfare through the CRT 2017 Travel Agency (when purchased 21 days in advance of February 18)

Details regarding hotel and airfare will be shared closer to the conference dates. A special symposium, including current leaders in the field from academia, industry, and the US Food and Drug Administration, will be held at CRT 2017 for the selected Young Leadership Recognition Program participants.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must have completed a formal fellowship program specializing in interventional cardiology, peripheral intervention, or their allied fields within the last seven years
• Applicants must have published at least five manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals related to the field of interventional cardiology (inventions may be included)
• Applicants must have presented at least seven presentations at national or international scientific meetings

Applications must also contain the following documents:

• Curriculum vitae
• Supporting statement from the applicant’s program director verifying that the applicant is an early career investigator as defined in the eligibility criteria
• Letters of recommendation from two academic interventional cardiologists

Evaluation Criteria

• Applications will be judged by the CRT 2017 Scientific Committee

FELLOWS PROGRAM INFORMATION

 

The CRT Fellows Scholarship is available to Interventional Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Interventional Radiology, and Vascular Surgery Fellows, as well as 3rd year General Cardiology fellows and Interventional Cardiologists who are one-year post fellowship. Recipients have full access to the CRT 2017 Meeting and are not limited to a designated fellows track. An educational grant has been provided to MedStar Washington Hospital Center to support this outstanding program.

**In order to be considered, a fellowship verification letter on institutional letterhead, must be signed by either your Program Director or Cath Lab Director.

Deadline: Applications and verification letters must be submitted by November 16, 2016. After CRT has reached the quota of 300 fellows, a partial scholarship will be awarded for up to 100 fellows from the U.S. and Canada only. All applicants will receive notification of their acceptance status no later than December 2, 2016.

Full Scholarship for the First 300 Approved Fellows Includes:

• Complimentary CRT 2017 registration
• Coach airfare* within the U.S. or Canada (for flights into DCA, BWI, IAD), train fare, or mileage reimbursement
• Hotel accommodations (3 Nights) on February 18, 19, 20, 2017
• Reimbursement of approved out-of-pocket expenses for Domestic Fellows only (U.S. and Canada)

*CRT will not pay or reimburse for International air travel or coach airfare originating within the US or Canada

Partial Fellows Scholarship**

After CRT has reached the quota of 300 fellows, a partial scholarship will be awarded for up to 100 fellows from the U.S. and Canada only. The partial scholarship will include:

• Complimentary Registration
• Coach airfare, train fare, mileage reimbursement (U.S. and Canada)

**CRT does not cover hotel accommodations or reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses for the partial scholarships.
