City Love & Hope Foundation Scholarship for Myanmar students

Program information

The City Love & Hope Foundation Scholarship is offering full scholarship grants to students to further their higher education after matriculation. The program is designed to provide funds to financially-challenged students who are capable and eligible to further their studies at a local university.

There will also be opportunities for selected students to join CMHL in the role which is relevant to his/her major, after completion of studies or during their holidays for internship programs. In their application cover letter, students should justify why their major is useful for the development of Myanmar and in particular, the growth of community.

The Scholarship Program provides scholarship for 20 eligible students for up to 6 years of study. New students are selected in an open application announced annually. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic record, applicant’s long-term goals, and financial need

 

Eligible Field of Study

Only students wishing to pursue higher studies at a local university in the following fields need to apply:

• B.Ed (Bachelor of Education )
• B.C.Sc (Bachelor of Computer Science)
• B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce)
• B.B.A (Bachelor of Business Administration )
• B.B.M (Bachelor of Business Management)

Please note that Distance Education (correspondence courses) are not eligible for the 

scholarship program.

Selection Criteria

Selection Round 1:

Based on submission of following documents, the CSR Committee will review and shortlist.

• Personal Information (Application Form)
• Cover Letter (The reason why you want this grant)

Selection Final Round:

Shortlisted candidates will be required to come in for an interview with the committee, bringing along –

• A letter of certification from high school
• A copy of your academic transcripts
• A copy of your NRC Card (National Registration Card)
• A copy of parents’ (Father/Mother) NRC Card
• Standard letter from the Quarter Office
• Standard letter from the Police Department
• Standard Family Household Form from Ministry of Home Affairs
• 2 x Passport Size Photos
• Two reference letters:
  • one from an academic advisor (Head Master or Teacher)
  • recommendation letter for the student’s financial conditions by the Quarter Office

Scholarship fund provided covers:

• Tuition fees
• Living expenses
• Meal Allowance
• Daily Travelling Expenses
• Stationeries and Books
